About Norde ; Norde is an Istanbul-based manufacturing brand that offers design-oriented solutions with its 10,000 square meter production facility and a team of 90 employees. The company’s core approach is to bring design and production together to create a balanced manufacturing process guided by the principles of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. In order to respond to global demands for comfort and contemporary aesthetics, Norde has also established an additional production facility in Indonesia with a team of 25 people, effectively leveraging its geographical advantages. This strategic expansion aims to enhance flexibility and rapid production capacity in the international market. The Norde Design initiative was born out of a motivation to understand design approaches across different cultures and to integrate these perspectives into production processes. The company shapes its work by reinterpreting the historical accumulation and design heritage of its own geography through a modern perspective. Within this framework, the Toms armchair, originally designed by Ahmet Kaleli in 1979, was re-produced with respect to the fundamental characteristics of the original design. This was followed by the realization of a collection by Erdem Akan, who stands out with his institutional approach and design philosophy. In addition to the Ro.er collection, which combines production expertise with contemporary aesthetics, designs by Gallery GLUSTIN—a Paris-based company active in the furniture industry for four generations—have also been included in the product range. Norde’s aim is to support contemporary design approaches in Istanbul and throughout Turkey, bringing together the works of industrial designers, interior architects, and architects with long-lasting and accessible solutions. By embracing functionality in design and sustainable, scientific methods in production, the company continues to contribute to the industry.
